On September 9th, the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists held its first one-day program in Beijing, China at the Penn Wharton China Center. Journalists gained insights from Wharton faculty members including Dean Geoffrey Garrett and Professors Daniel Polsky, Diana Robertson, and John Zhang.

This one-day free Seminar was held to coincide with Wharton’s Global Forum on June 22-24 in Hong Kong. The Seminar featured Wharton Professor of International Management and Director, the Lauder Institute for Management and International Studies, Mauro Guillen, on “The Future of Global Markets” and Wharton Professor of Marketing and Director, Penn Wharton China Center, Z. John Zhang on “Marketing Opportunities in China.”

For the first time in its 38 year history, the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists held a special one-day seminar outside of the US. Timed to coincide with Wharton’s Global Alumni Forum, May 25-26, this seminar allowed local and regional reporters to improve their reporting skills and gain valuable insights into current management practices from senior Wharton faculty members. The event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, the location of the Alumni Forum to which all seminar participants were invited to register as media guests.

This one-day free Seminar was held to coincide with Wharton’s Global Alumni Forum on June 24-25 in Madrid, Spain. The Seminar featured Prof. Mauro Guillen who discussed “the Financial Crisis” as well as Prof. Richard Shell who gave a presentation on “Negotiation Skills.” The event took place at the Melia/Castilla Hotel, the location of the Wharton Global Alumni Forum to which all Seminar participants were invited to register as media guests.
